A RHUBARB PATCH?

Maghull Baptist Church was built over 65 years ago when a group of people decided to build a local baptist church. The work began in the late 1940s, and the first building was erected in 1951 on what had previously been the rhubarb patch on a local farm,  owned by one of the founder members. This is now the church hall,  with a new worship area being built in 1976. Over the years, the church has grown and we have added buildings to cater for the many things we have going on in the church.

Today there are activities for all ages from babies to the elderly, both on a sunday and on various days during the week.

We have a leadership team of elected members serving in the church.

The current leaders are Mark, George, Jan, Phil, Katie, Colin, Ian and Roy who would be happy to chat with you if you want to know more about our Church.

Katie is our Family worker and more about her role below.

FAMILY WORKER: KATIE EVANS

My name is Katie Evans and I am a 'family worker' at MBC. This is a role which comes about through the desire of many in the church to build on the fantastic children's and youth work which has taken place over so many years.

God brings so many different types of people together, and the activities and groups are such a blessing to the community.  This role is all about people and prayer - getting to know new people, supporting and championing the wonderful volunteers and praying!

OUR VISION - WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

Maghull Baptist Church  follows the teaching of the Baptist denomination.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he lived amongst us, and he died for the wrong things we have done. We believe he rose from the dead before ascending into heaven to be reunited with His Father. We acknowledge the work of God’s Holy Spirit in our lives to equip and empower us, and to show us God’s way for living our lives. We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God.

Our people are the church, and we all want to work as part of the local community to demonstrate God’s love in action.

MBC is an evangelical fellowship, with aspects of charismatic renewal, 'seeker' style services and events as part of the outreach of the Church. The Alpha Course and Christianity Explored also play an important role in helping people discover Jesus.

SAFEGUARDING:

We have a Safeguarding Policy in place that we follow as a fellowship to ensure the safety of both the children and adults who worship with us. We have two members of the church who are the nominated safeguarding officers and who are available to speak with, in confidence, on any safeguarding concern.

If you would like to see our full policy then please click HERE to view.
